Late-January and Resolutions Falling Away?

Our January newsletter and e-news theme is resolutions. They say it takes 21 days to create or break a habit. We’re now past the three-week mark of the new year; have you seen your changes take shape? Are you being resolute?
One of the many resolutions of Esperança staff is to communicate better with our project sites. As you can imagine, it is difficult to speak regularly with projects on four continents, including three different languages and countless cultures. Mozambique is exactly 12 hours different from Phoenix, meaning there is little to no time when we are both in our offices – not to mention the total unreliability of phone systems in southern Africa.
Regardless, we are getting better about emailing our partners and requesting detailed stories from the field. We know donors appreciate seeing the faces of those they are helping and understanding exactly how their dollars are improving the health of the poor. This year, we resolve to communicate and gather information more efficiently from the field and to provide you with more vivid details. In the meantime, I hope you’ll take my word for it; you make a difference to the 100,000 people we’ll help this year. Without your generosity, they’d be another dire health statistic. Thank you.

Warm regards,

Kelli Donley, MPH
Program Director
