Volunteer Community Health Educators support Esperança’s Phoenix health projects by assisting with nutrition and physical activity programming for underserved children and adults, teaching preventive education workshops at community partner sites and performing community outreach to recruit more participants for nutrition programs. **Due to building construction, Esperança will not be accepting any new volunteers for the Domestic Program. Esperança will begin accepting internship applications in October for the Spring 2020 semester. Please email Julieta Larios at Julieta@Esperanca.org with any questions or concerns.**
Volunteers inventory donated medical supplies at Esperança’s warehouse in Phoenix. Hours are flexible, Monday - Friday 8:30AM-4:30PM. Volunteers are needed to sort goods on continuous basis (weekly, monthly, etc.). Inventory is entered into a basic computer program. IMPORTANT: Minor lifting, moving, and computer skills required.
This family friendly event takes place on an as-needed basis when the Esperança warehouse is full to the brim. We need help sorting supplies and organizing our inventory.
Want to help Esperança, but can't commit to a full time volunteer position? Once every 3-4 months, sends a shipping container full of donated medical supplies to Nicaragua, and we always need help loading up!
Prior to every surgical mission, get together at the Esperança office to pack post-op kits for our patients, write handwritten notes, and possibly even chat with the surgeons!
After each oral health class, Esperança hands out free “smile bags” to the children who participated. These bags consist of toothbrushes, toothpaste, and floss. Sometimes they are the first these kids have ever owned! We need all the help we can get putting together kits for for this jam-packed year of oral health education.
Volunteer opportunities are available on weekdays and weekends every month. Specific dates and times vary by opportunity. Please reach out for more information, or check out our schedule on VolunteerMatch.
